2023/24 Ghana Premier League Week 2: Match Preview - Hearts of Oak v Nsoatreman FC

Published on: 22 September 2023

Hearts of Oak are back home to face Nsoatreman FC at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League clash.

The Phobians had a disappointing start to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, suffering a surprising 1-0 defeat against Real Tamale United (RTU).

But the 2020/2021 champions are aiming for a swift return to victory in their second game against Maxwell Konadu’s side on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak faces a daunting task of bouncing back from a disastrous season having finished 12th during the 2022/23 season.

The Ghanaian giants have set their sights on winning this season's league to appease fans for last season's woeful show that saw them nearly relegated.

Nsoatreman on the other hand will go into the game after an outstanding victory against Bechem United last weekend.

The Nsoatre-based club inflicted a resounding 2-0 win over Bechem United at the Nana Koramansah Park.

Nsoatreman FC will hugely depend on tactician Maxwell Konadu who has a good records against Hearts of Oak. The Phobians must worry about the presence of the former Black Stars assistant coach who has proven be a tough nut to crack by the Ghanaian giants.

Hearts of Oak have always struggled against Maxwell Konadu dating back to his days at Kotoko and Legon Cities.

It promises to be an exciting encounter on Sunday as both teams will be yearning for the maximum points.
