Bechem United defeated Great Olympics 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon to return to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League.
The 2023/24 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign continued today with the first round of midweek games.
In a Week 8 encounter of the campaign, Bechem United hosted Great Olympics at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
After a tough contest in the first half, Bechem United scored in the 42nd minute to take a narrow lead into the break.
Talented attacker Augustine Okrah who has returned to the club after being away for a while scored that important goal.
After recess, Great Olympics put up a very good display in the team’s bid to turn things around.
Although a Samuel Abbey Ashie Quaye goal would restore parity to the game, Emmanuel Owusu scored seven minutes later to give Bechem United a 2-1 win at the end of the 90 minutes.
The victory has propelled the Hunters to 6th on the Ghana Premier League table while Great Olympics dropped from 3rd to 4th on the league log.
