Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has embraced the challenge ahead of the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Ivory Coast.

The Black Stars secured qualification with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Central African Republic in Kumasi in early September. The win ensured Ghana finished top of their group.

The West African powerhouse had to come from a goal down to beat the CAR to book AFCON spot.

Semenyo, who setup the winner against CAR has embraced the challenge ahead of the continental showpiece. The forward is expected to make Ghana's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

"It's going to be tough but I am ready to embrace that challenge," he told AFCB TV ahead of the game against Stoke City in the EFL Cup.

Reflecting on his performance against CAR, the Bournemouth attacker said, "That was a good game, tough game and the pitch was not so good and the opposition surprised us, they were really good and of course I am happy to say I came off to provide the assist for the winner,"

The lanky forward has netted a goal in four matches in the English Premier League this season.
