2023 AFCON qualifiers: Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Augustine Okrah to miss Ghana’s clash against Central African Republic

Home-based players, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Augustine Okrah will miss Ghana’s 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Central African Republic.

The duo is part of the Ghana squad currently in camp training for the second game of the AFCON qualifiers.

Today, sources have reported that both players have been axed from the travelling squad for the Central African Republic encounter.

In addition to Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Augustine Okrah, Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo, as well as German-based attacker Christopher Antwi Adjei, will also miss the next game.

Ghana’s clash against the Central African Republic is scheduled to be staged in Angola on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Just last Wednesday, the Black Stars won the first match of the qualifiers when the national team brushed aside Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium with a 3-0 win in the opening Group E game.
