2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Moldova-based defender Patrick Kpozo earns Ghana call-up for Angola doubleheader

Moldova-based defender Patrick Kpozo has been handed a call up ahead of the Black Stars 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Angola.

Having being in form, the Sheriff Tiraspol left-back has made the team for the first time under new coach Chris Hughton.

Kpozo was named in the pre-World Cup squad but missed the tournament after the list was pruned to 26 for competition in Qatar.

He will compete with Gideon Mensah for starting role at left-back following the absence of injured Baba Rahman.

Ghana will play host to Angola on March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.

Ghana lead Group E of the qualifiers with four points, followed by Angola who are also on four points before Central African Republic and Madagascar follow in that order.
