2023 AFCON qualifiers: No local player as Chris Hughton names first Black Stars squad for Angola showdown

Ghana new coach Chris Hughton has named his first Black Stars squad, excluding local players ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers later this month.

Ghana will play host to Angola on March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.

Ahead of the tie, the former Brighton boss has named a 25-man squad, with no local player making the cut.

The squad has usual suspects Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mohammed Kudus.

Meanwhile, Joseph Paintsil, Majeed Ashimeru, Ransford Yeboah have all made a return to the squad.

Ghana are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points from two games following a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in June last year.
