2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Red-hot Joseph Paintsil returns to Black Stars squad ahead of Angola clash

Red-hot Joseph Paintsil has made a return to the Black Stars squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola.

Ghana will play host to Angola on March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.

Paintsil, who missed the 2022 World Cup despite being on top form at the time has been recalled to the team.

He has been on top form this campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists for Genk as a winger.

Other players to have made a return include, Majeed Ashimeru, Ransford Yeboah and Patrick Kpozo.

The squad has usual suspects Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mohammed Kudus.

Ghana are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points from two games following a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in June last year.
