President of WAFU Zone B, Kurt Okraku has extended congratulations to Cote d’Ivoire for winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

This is contained in a statement issued on behalf of the member countries in WAFU Zone B.

In the statement, Kurt Okraku also applauded Cote d’Ivoire for hosting the best AFCON in the history of the tournament.

“On behalf of Wafu Zone B, big congratulations to Cote d'Ivoire for winning its third continental trophy and for organizing the best AFCON in the history of the competition,” Kurt Okraku said.

The WAFU Zone B president continued, “Congratulations also to all the countries from the Zone that took part in this 34th Edition of the TotalEnergies AFCON and to all the 24 nations that took part in this great Rendezvous of continental soccer staged in our zone.

“Our Zone secured the top two positions with Nigeria joining Cote d'Ivoire on the podium, which is a great source of satisfaction.”

Kurt Okraku is also president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Unfortunately, the Black Stars could not go past the group stage at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
