The Central African Republic (CAR) have opted to host its first home game in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) group stage qualifiers in Angola.

CAR were billed to host the Black Stars of Ghana at the Barthelemy Boganda Stadium in Bangui but Caf has said the edifice is deemed unfit to host the game.

Set to start this June, Les Fauves will be competing for one of two tickets to the Cote d’Ivoire Afcon in Group E with Ghana, Angola, and Madagascar.

CAR open their campaign on the road on the first day of the month against Angola at Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.

Now the same venue has been adopted by the Central Africans to host the Black Stars on Sunday, June 5.

Caf allowed member nations participating in this stage of the qualifiers to confirm venues for just the June batch of games.
