2023 Africa Cup of Nations: Young sensation Forson Amankwah named in Black Stars provisional squad

Ghanaian youngster, Forson Amankwah has been named in Chris Hughton’s 55-man provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The continent is less than a month away from assembling in Ivory Coast for the biggest tournament.

As part of a requirement, all national team head coaches have submitted their provisional squads to CAF.

In the squad submitted by Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton, he has included talented midfielder Forson Amankwah.

The 20-year-old has been a key man for Red Bull Salzburg in the past year.

This season, midfielder Forson Amankwah has made 15 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga for his club.

He has two goals and two assists to his name.

He needs to stay in form to convince Ghana coach Chris Hughton to include him in his final 27-man squad for the 2023 AFCON.

Coach Chris Hughton has up to January 3 to submit his final 27-man squad for the 2023 AFCON.

The tournament will kick off in Ivory Coast on January 13.
