Ghana's hopes of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games were shattered as they suffered an early elimination from the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Black Meteors' coach, Ibrahim Tanko, expressed his disappointment following the team's failure to advance to the next stage of the tournament.

Despite accumulating four points from three games, Ghana's dreams were dashed on Friday night when they were unable to secure a victory against Guinea.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Guinea progressing to the semi-finals due to their superior goal difference.

Tanko, acknowledging the team's shortcomings, stated, "I think we disappointed Ghanaians and ourselves, but we give thanks to God in every situation, and like I said, we will analyze and know what didn't go well," during a post-match press conference.

Ghana took an early lead in the game through a remarkable finish from forward Emmanuel Yeboah, who capitalized on defensive errors made by Guinea.

However, Ghana's defensive struggles persisted, and in the 60th minute, Ibrahima Breze's well-executed volley secured a well-deserved equalizer for Guinea.
