2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations: Egyptian referee Mahmoud Nagy Mosa to officiate Ghana vs Congo game

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Mahmoud Nagy Ahmed Nagy Mosa from Egypt as the referee for the opening match of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations between Ghana and Congo.

The highly anticipated game will take place at the Prince Moulay Sports complex in Rabat on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 3 pm Ghana time.

Mahmoud Nagy Ahmed Nagy Mosa will be joined by fellow Egyptian official Sami Mohamed Abouzid Halhal as the Assistant Referee I.

Assisting them will be Adel Abane from Algeria as Assistant Referee II and Gamouh Youcef, also from Algeria, as the Fourth Referee.

The Match Commissioner for this important fixture will be Issaka Adamou from Niger.

The Black Meteors arrived in Rabat, Morocco on Wednesday after a two-week pre-tournament camping in Cairo, Egypt.

They played two friendlies; drawing 1-1 against Egypt's U23 national team, who are the U23 AFCON defending champions, before beating Zamalek 4-1 days later to wrap up the camp.
