2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers: 24 players take part in first Black Stars training session ahead of Mali trip

The Black Stars held a first training session on Friday, May 31, as part of preparations for the games against Mali and Central African Republic in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Of the 26 players invited by coach Otto Addo for the two games, 24 players were present and took part in the training held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The players who trained include Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Fredrick Asare, Joseph Wollacott, Alidu Seidu, Tariq Lamptey, Salisu Mohammed, Jerome Opoku, Abdul Mumin, Thomas Partey, Salis Abdul Samed, Gideon Mensah, Ebenezer Annan, Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah, Ibrahim Sulemana, Edmund Addo, Elisha Owusu and Abu Francis.

The others are Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Ibrahim Osman, Kamal Deen Sulemana and Brandon Thomas-Asante.

The only players yet to report to camp include Alexander Djiku and Osman Bukari.

The Black Stars will continue training on Saturday, June 1, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
