FIFA instructor Edward Franklin has praised Ghana's dynamic football development, asserting that it has the potential to groom talent for the national team to compete on the global stage.

Franklin, who previously served as the Head of Academy Elite Performance at Reading Football Club, made these remarks at the recently held FIFA Talent Development Scheme in Accra.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council has recently set up four new developmental national teams for boys and five for girls, assigning coaches to each of these new teams. In addition, the Ghana FA has established an Elite Academy, with plans to expand it across all 16 regions of the country.

Franklin, who has witnessed the influx of African talent into the English Premier League, expressed his admiration for Ghana's untapped potential. He told Citi Sports, "Ghana has got so many talents. Living in England, I see a lot of players coming from Africa and going into the premier league, it’s fantastic."

He further added, "I was formerly in an academy, we had players in our academy from Ghana coming through into our first team. You guys have got such untapped talent and some big development establishment to find these talents and give them an opportunity. Long may that continue, because you’ve got some world beaters, that’s for sure."
