Abdul Aziz, a retired footballer with a successful career behind him, has revealed why he decided to stay in Accra and continue playing football for Great Olympics.

According to Aziz, he stayed in Accra because he didn't want to move to Kumasi and leave his family behind. He also added that Asante Kotoko was interested in signing him, a decision he says he regrets today.

"They did everything the way I am with my family moving from Accra to Kumasi and leaving them behind it was very difficult for me. There was a time Kotoko came with a Mercedes Ben to come and pick me. Their circles chairman was in New Town he had a studio he organized everything," he said on Ernest Brew Smith Show.

"They told me they will give me anything I want unfortunately for them the day they came with the benz to pick me to Kumasi my father was sick. I wish I would play that was when they were going to play the African Cup. I and Opoku Nti were competing,"
