Abdul Ganiyu handed Black Stars call up for 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa games

Defender Ismail Abdul Ganiyu is the only Asante Kotoko player named in the Black Stars upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifications in September.

The central defender is the only Porcupine Warrior star named in the listed players.

The Black Stars will take on Ethiopia on 3 September 2021 at the Cape Coast stadium before travelling to South Africa later on.

Ismail following his outstanding performances in the Ghana Premier League earned him a place in the Ghana team where he made his debut against South Africa and Sao Tome in March.

The 25-year-old was also included in the team that faced Morocco and Ivory Coast in international friendlies in June.

Ismail made 34 appearances in all competitions for Kotoko where he scored four goals in the process.

Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora has been dropped from the squad named by CK Akonnor on Friday.
