Interim Asante Kotoko coach, Abdul Gazale has called for defensive improvement ahead of their game against Bibiani Gold Stars this weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors, who defending champions remain outside the top four and are eight points adrift of league leaders Aduana Stars after being held at home by Tamale City.

“We have been picking the matches one after the other, and that match against Bibiani Gold Stars is one we also have to work on our finishing as well. We will not stop from the defensive orientation, and as far as air ball is concerned, we will continue to work on it to see how best we can manage up till the end of the season,” Gazale said on Peace FM.

“The way we are conceding those particular goals is unfortunate, and it keeps on happening. But the defenders and the goalkeeper have to talk to each other to see how best they can handle it. We have done a lot concerning that particular aspect," he added.

Asante Kotoko will need to win all of their remaining games to have a chance of defending their title.
