In 2016/20017 and then again from summer 2018 to January 2019, Abdul Rahman Baba played on loan at FC Schalke 04. Now FC Chelsea could loan the Ghanaian full-back to the Bundesliga again.

Abdul Rahman Baba couldn't really take off at FC Schalke 04. The now 27-year-old only played 26 competitive games for the Royal Blues - also because he repeatedly had to struggle with serious knee injuries.

Baba also failed to make a breakthrough at his home club, Chelsea. In the second half of the season, the Champions League winner awarded him to PAOK Saloniki in Greece. After all: Baba was convincing there. He is currently involved in Chelsea's preparation for the upcoming season.

Whether he will actually still be wearing the Blues jersey at the start of the season, however, remains to be seen. According to the "kicker", Olympiacos Piraeus is interested in a loan in addition to PAOK.

And if you believe the trade magazine, another ex-Baba club from Germany could also throw its hat into the ring: FC Augsburg.

At the Fuggerstadt team, Baba made his way into the notebooks of the big clubs with strong performances in 2014/2015. Chelsea ultimately transferred 26 million euros to the FCA for him.

The fact that coach Markus Weinzierl, who already had Baba under his wing during his first engagement in Augsburg, is plagued by a personnel bottleneck on the left, speaks in favor of a return.

Mads Pedersen missed the FCA training camp due to a groin injury and physical deficits. The Brazilian Iago only completes an individual program. "If both are one hundred percent fit, we are certainly very well staffed," Weinzierl recently commented on the situation. But what if not?

The potential returnee Baba, according to the "kicker", would in any case "fit well into the sporting profile".
