AC Milan and Villarreal nearing double deal

Discussions continue to take place as AC Milan and Villarreal close in on a transfer that will see Samu Castillejo and Carlos Bacca swap sides.

The 23-year-old midfielder was an impressive performer for the Yellow Submarine last season and was a teammate of the Colombian during his spell on loan at the side.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that there has been a sudden acceleration in discussions over Castillejo in particular and that he could even be confirmed as a new Rossoneri player before the end of the day on Tuesday.

The Malaga native is viewed as being an alternative who can add real competition in wider attacking areas for the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu and Suso.

He is expected to join for the campaign on an initial loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent for a fee of €18 million next summer.

With Castillejo set to join the Diavolo, it will see Bacca return to the Ceramica once again after enjoying a fruitful loan spell there last year in which he netted 18 goals in all competitions.
