AC Milan linked with shock move for Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt could soon become a professional footballer, with reports suggesting AC Milan are ready to hand the sprinter a two-year contract.

The 32-year-old recently netted a brace for the A-League’s Central Coast Mariners against MacArthur South West United as he continues life after hanging up his sprinting spikes.

Prior to being on trial with the Mariners, Bolt had trained with Borussia Dortmund and played in a friendly with Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset, but it appears he could make a significant leap forward in the coming months.

Australian Daily Telegraph reports the Mariners are likely to sign Bolt to a contract, but those plans could be on shaky grounds given an unnamed European club have offered the Jamaican a two-year contract.

It’s believed the offer comes from a side in southern Europe that is a top flight frontrunner, was recently acquired by new investors that want to qualify for the Champions League and have an upcoming cup final that Bolt could play in.

Milan tick all the boxes as they are in Italy, one of Serie A’s most famous clubs and were recently taken over by Elliot Management who want to return to the Champions League. They will also play the Supercoppa Italian against Juventus in January.

Another factor to consider is Bolt has been sponsored by PUMA for over 15 years. PUMA took over from Adidas as Milan’s kit suppliers over the summer.

While a deal would be seen primarily as a marketing gimmick, it would boost the Rossoneri’s exposure as they look to return to past glories.
