Aduana Stars players receive full salary amid COVID-19 pandemic - Report

Published on: 10 May 2020

Aduana Stars players received a full salary for the month of April amid coronavirus outbreak in the country, according to reports in the local media.

Despite rumours of players taking a pay cut to ease the club's financial burden in this difficult period, the management paid all bonuses in arrears.

The issue of pay cuts has been debated in the media after the 2019/20 league season league was suspended due to the pandemic.

Some GPL players have resisted moves by their employers to slash their salaries as some of them earn as little as GHS 500 as monthly salary.

The current football season still remains on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The football governing body is engaging key stakeholders on the fate of the 2019/2020 football season and will make a final decision in the coming weeks.
