Afriyie Acquah's father dies aged 62

Ghana and Empoli midfielder Afriyie Acquah has been greeted with bad news following the sudden demise of his father Alfred Baah Yeboah.

Acquah, who scored his first goal for Empoli on Sunday in the 3-0 win over Sassuolo has been hit with the sad news as his 62-year-old dad was pronounced dead at the Sunyani Regional Hospital on Monday where he was admitted for the past one month.

''Our father has been well for sometime now and was receiving treatment here in Sunyani. Things were not improving so he had planned to transfer him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital today (Monday) only for me to get informed at around 12 midnight that our father is no more,'' Acquah brother Leslie told GHANASoccernet.com

This comes as a huge blow for the 27-year-old was put up an incredible performance for Empol in their huge win over Sassuolo on Sunday.
