Aldridge excited by young duo Solanke, Robertson after Liverpool triumph

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has hailed the impact of young duo Dominic Solanke and Andrew Robertson.

Discussing Saturday's win over Crystal Palace, Aldridge wrote for the Liverpool Echo: "Solanke did particularly well when he came on too - and I've liked him from the first time I've set eyes on him.

"He's going to be a terrific player, he came on as a young lad, put himself about, holding the ball up, winning balls in the air.

"If he'd have been on in the first half I think he'd have got on the end of a few of those Andy Robertson crosses as Daniel tends to be outside the box a little more.

"There were a lot of positives and Robertson was a massive one. The balls he put in, from a striker's point of view I was looking thinking 'I'd love to be playing' - I'd have got on the end of a couple of those!

"The likes of Robbie Fowler, Rushy, myself, Owen, we knew that as soon as the ball went wide you had to get in the firing line and get on the end of it.

"Whether the lads didn't expect the balls to be so good or have so many come in, I don't know, but it's something Liverpool have to work on.
