Amos Frimpong was a weak leader - former Kotoko player Samuel Kyere

The defender joined Asante Kotoko on a free transfer in October 2015 after an unsuccessful spell with Armenia side Shirak FC.

After the departure of Coach David Duncan who signed him to the Kumasi-based club, he was demoted to the club's youth team for gross misconduct.

According to him, Coach Micheal Osei sabotaged his stay at the Ghana Premier League club after the departure of the Black Stars assistant coach.

“I was not indiscipline in the team as was portrayed by coach Michael Osei. He always talked about whatever I did, using me as an example whenever he was giving a speech,” Kyere told Ashh FM.

“We had nobody to explain our issues with and Amos Frimpong, who was the captain at Asante Kotoko was not able to fight for the players. For me, he was a weak leader.”

Kyere has been without a club after the cancelation of his contract with Techiman City in 2016.
