Anderlecht winger, Jeremy Doku, has stated the importance of attackers excelling in scoring goals and delivering assists.
He stated that although he doesn't place much importance in it, he has realized that an attacker can be called out a lot if he doesn't score goals or provide assists.
"I understood that professional football is not a spectacle where you have to show your dribbling numbers and tricks. An attacker who does not score and does not give assists will always be targeted. You are judged on your statistics. I have made progress in that area especially. but a metamorphosis. In the youth I did not attach importance to my statistics. I was happy if I had played well and performed a few tricks. For me that was enough," he told S/V magazine.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Real Madrid.
