The right-back has not fully trained after picking up an injury during his club’s 3-2 defeat at home to Birmingham at the weekend.

Though he has made steady progress as far as returning to full fitness is concerned, the club does not want to risk the 28-year old and want to see him passing a late fitness test before handing him a starting role.

Giving an update on the player’s injury, Reading manager Mark Bowen noted, “Andy was playing most of the second half with a bang on his knee so he wasn't 100 percent comfortable on Saturday but I hope he will be available to play”

The gaffer added, "He tried hard in the second half carrying the injury and maybe if he was 100 percent fit he'd have made more overlapping runs perhaps.

"But he carried on though because he's got a big heart and hopefully the injury will settle down well.

"I have no doubt with him he'll be looking forward to the game and he'll be hoping the injury settles down too."
