Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey says he is happy with Antoine Griezmann's decision to remain with Atletico Madrid.
The France international was hugely linked to Barcelona at the end of last season.
However, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner opted to remain at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, much to the delight of those at Atletico.
"We are very happy that Griezmann is still with us," said the midfielder.
"He is the best player we have and we are all looking forward to playing with him again."
Thomas also touched on the added competition he will have for his place next season following the arrival of record signing and namesake Lemar, while also paying tribute to the importance of having youth team players such as Koke, Saul and Lucas make the leap to the first team.
"Competition within a team is normal, as it always is. What you must do is concentrate and continue playing as a team to fight for titles," he added.
"It is also very important that there are players coming from the youth system, it isn't easy to do that.
"They serve as the perfect example for other young people who want to become like them."
