Appiah joins LA Galaxy

American Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy have completed the signing of Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Appiah on a two-year deal from Sporting Kansas City.

The tireless enforcer appended his signature to the deal on Thursday after successful medicals in a private hospital in Los Angeles.

Footballmadeinghana.com can reveal that Appiah will feature for the second team of Galaxy before being moved to the main side if he impresses.

Galaxy boss Mike Munoz is confident that the talented midfielder will be of great help to the club as they seek to move forward.

“Emmanuel has worked really hard in preseason to deserve a contract with our organization. He is going to provide instant experience up the spine of our team,” Galaxy II Head Coach Mike Muñoz stated after the signing.

“Emmanuel will be a great role model and leader for our group and will be able to help our younger guys understand what it takes to be a professional soccer player. We really feel we have added a solid piece to our project and our team. I look forward to working with Emmanuel on a daily basis.”

Appiah who was born in Sampa in Ghana previously also featured for Colorado Rapids and St. Louis. He is the third Ghanaian at Galaxy with the rest being Emmanuel Boateng and Geoffrey Acheampong.
