Arsenal appreciates Thomas Partey’s decision not to join Black Stars for Nigeria and Uganda games

Premier League giants Arsenal have lauded Thomas Partey’s decision not to represent Ghana in the March international break.

Partey, who has been battling injuries this season personally requested for his exclusion from the Black Stars squad for Nigeria and Uganda games to fully gain fitness following recent injuries.

The Gunners appreciates the former Atletico Madrid star decision as they will be counting on the Ghana star few weeks to the end of the 2023/24 season following his recovery.

Arsenal want Partey to be 100% fit for the final two months of the season. The Ghana international will be key for the Gunners in the Champions League and Premier League title challenge.

Partey has been inconsistent for the Gunners this season due to recurring injuries, making only seven appearances so far for the club.

The West African powerhouse will engage Nigeria and Uganda during the March international break.

Ghana will take on the Super Eagles on March 22 before facing the Cranes of Uganda on March 26 in Morocco.

Otto Addo, who has made a sensational return for a second spell with the Black Stars has released a 26-man squad for the two friendlies.

He named four debutants Frederick Asare, Nathaniel Adjei, Mohammed Diomande and Ibrahim Osman in his squad for the international friendlies.

Partey is among notable players omitted from the squad for the upcoming games. Inaki Williams and Joseph Paintsil also pulled out of games.

The Black Stars will pitch camp this week ahead of the two friendlies in Morocco.
