Arsenal Legend Ian Wright Says Welshman Aaron Ramsey Should Have Started in the London Derby

Arsenal legend Ian Wright said Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey should have started in the London derby ahead of Nigerian winger Alex Iwobi, after Arsenal drew 1-1 against their bitter rivals Spurs on Sunday, with a Harry Kane penalty cancelling out Kevin Wimmer's own goal.

Wright was speaking onBBC Radio 5 Livewhen he said Arsene Wenger should have used his experience to pick Ramsey ahead of youngster Iwobi, Wright said:

I thought Alex Iwobi might have been better as a substitute.Aaron Ramsey has a bit more experience. He (Iwobi) was a bit disappointing. I felt for him. He was nervous. A couple of his passes were knocked out of play."

Iwobi has three assists to his name so far this season in 20 outings and Wright thinks the Nigerian would of been better as as substitute as an 'impact player' and it's hard to disagree, since Iwobi's pace and power late on in the game would have given the Spurs defenders a run for their money.

I think that Iwobi needs a break from the first team for a few games, being overplayed & yesterday proved it, looked fatigued #AFC

Euro 2016 player of the tournament Ramsey has had a halted start to the season after the Welshman picked up an injury against Liverpool on the first game of the season and after a delayed return back to the side, the upcoming international break could just give Ramsey the confidence to go back with the Gunners and relive his summer tournament form.

Despite Wright's opinion on Ramsey coming in for Iwobi, it turns out that the Gunners have a much lower win percentage when Ramsey has started games compared to when he's come off the bench.

With the games being counted from August 2014 to November 2016 it seems the London side don't always need the Welshman to start games to win them.

Arsenal's PL win percentage (August 2014 ▶ November 2016):

With Aaron Ramsey starting - 49%
Without Ramsey starting - 68%
