Arsenal to move to sign Douglas Luiz to augment squad as Thomas Partey faces uncertain future

Arsenal are reportedly looking at bringing in a new midfielder in the January transfer window.

The club from reports gathered is concerned about the many injuries of Thomas Partey and wants to have more options on the bench.

It is understood that the Gunners will look to poach Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz in the next transfer window.

With the new midfielder, Arsenal will also be sorted if Thomas Partey joins Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in January.

This way, Douglas Luiz will help the London club in the bid to fight to win the 2023/24 English Premier League title.

For now, Thomas Partey’s future remains uncertain as he nurses an ankle injury.

Due to the injury, he could not join the Black Stars for the first round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

He is not playing any part in the games against Madagascar and Comoros this month.

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey is linked with a move to Italian Serie A side Juventus.
