Arsenal youngster Maitland-Niles buoyed by Europa Experience

Playing in his favorite position of central midfield is not high on the list of priorities for Ainsley Maitland-Niles this season.

The Arsenal youngster, and England under-20 international, is just happy to get first time experience in the Europa League with the Gunners.

"I think that I've gained vital experience playing in this competition, playing with top players, against some difficult opposition. I've got the boss to thank for that," said Maitland-Niles.

Performing at left back in Arsenal's Europa League games, the youngster is hoping that he will continue in the competition, even in the latter knockout stages. It would give him the ideal chance to impress his manager, and show that he can be a permanent member of the first team squad in the next few years.

"It's a great opportunity to play, showcase your talent and the boss has given loads of young players the chance to show that," he added.

Arsenal face BATE Borisov in the final game of their Europa League group, with progression as group winners already assured.
