Arsene Wenger Admits Fan Pressure Will Play Huge Role in His Decision to Extend Arsenal Stay

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will take Arsenal fan protests into account ahead of his decision over signing a contract extension with the club.

The Gunners boss spoke to the press ahead of his side's FA Cup quarter-final encounter with non-league outfit Lincoln City and, unsurprisingly, was quizzed about his future at the club following Arsenal's Champions League humiliation against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Arsenal supporters once again staged protests calling for Wenger to be sacked ahead of that clash after another underwhelming campaign and, in quotes published by football.london, the 67-year-old admitted the negative reactions from the Gunners' fanbase would play a significant role as to whether he would commit his future to the north Londoners.

He said: "It's different for me to judge (the fans for protesting).

I worked 20 years to make our fans happy. I don't want to judge what I am not capable to do.

A two-year contract extension is alleged to be sitting on the table waiting to be signed by Wenger but, as pressure continues to mount on his position at the Emirates, it remains to be seen whether he will put pen-to-paper on adding to his 20 years at the helm.
