The 28-year-oldmissed the trip to Anfield as he was suffering with an illness. Ozil has barely trained in thefew weeks and Wenger is believed to have considered dropping him for this reason.

It is also reported that the Frenchman wanted to send Ozil a message due to his poor performances over the last number of weeks, which have been widely criticised by pundits.

Despite being beatenby one of their Champions League contenders, the main talking point after the Liverpool match was Wenger's decision to dropSanchez.

It is believed that Wenger and Sanchez have had a number of arguments recently, with the Arsenal manager disappointedthat the Chileanhas criticised his teammates.

It leaves Gunners fans with an almighty headache after losing 3-1at Anfield, the side from north London slipped out of the Champions League places, and watched on Sunday as Tottenham moved further away from their rivals.

Added to that the stress of the Sanchez and Ozil contract disputes, the insecurity over Wenger's future and the inevitable Champions League exit on Tuesday night, Arsenal supporters really do need a break.

The onlypositive for the Gunners at the moment is that they face a very winnable game against non-league Lincoln City in the FA Cup on Saturday. A much needed win for Wenger's men would see them progress tothe semi-final stage.
