Arturo Vidal 'Happy' at Bayern Despite Rumours of Reunion With Antonio Conte at Chelsea

Arturo Vidal has dismissed suggestions he could leave Bayern Munich to be reunited with Antonio Conte at Chelsea this summer.

The Chile international has been tenatively linked with swapping the Bundesliga for the Premier League, with some media outlets claiming that Vidal would look to reignite his relationship with Conte after the duo worked together at Juventus.

In an interview with Sport Bild, however, Vidal poured cold water on rumours about a possible move to London, and insisted he and his family were settled in Munich.

He said: "These are just rumors that are emerging quickly. After all, I played four very successful years under coach Conte at Juventus.

"But there is no reason for me to leave Bayern. I wear this jersey with pride. I feel well, my wife feels well, and the children are happy. And I still have big targets in Munich."

Conte coached Vidal when the pair were at Serie A giants Juventus between 2011 and 2014, before the former departed to become the manager of the senior Italian national team.

Bare that in mind

Vidal remained in Turin for anoter 12 months before he upped sticks and completed a £31.5m switch to Bayern in July 2015 - a move that saw the 29-year-old pick up a German league and cup double in his first season to add to the seven titles he won with I Bianconeri.

Conte took charge at Stamford Bridge last July and has led Chelsea to the summit of England's top flight in his maiden campaign at the helm. The Blues currently sit 10 points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the table, but that has not dampened speculation linking Conte with a host of top stars who would strengthen his first-team options in the summer.

Vidal was linked with a January switch to the Londoners, with the Sun even claiming that the centre midfielder was in the process of learning English ahead of any impending transfer, while the Daily Express published an image of an Instagram post - liked by Vidal himself - about the possibility of the ex-Colo Colo starlet joining Chelsea.
