Former Black Star captain Asamoah Gyan has weighed in on the reported $200 million offer made by a Saudi Arabian club to entice Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.

Gyan took to Twitter and posted a zipped mouth emoji in response to a tweet questioning whether Partey, considering his age, should accept the lucrative offer or opt to remain in Europe.

Gyan's own career featured a surprising move from Sunderland to the United Arab Emirates after just one season in England.

Shedding light on his decision, he revealed in an interview with FourFourTwo that UEA club Al Ain had presented him with an offer he simply could not refuse.

Gyan explained, "I was enjoying my football, but Al Ain offered me wages that instantly made me the best-paid footballer in Africa. I couldn't resist."

Reports indicate that the Saudi offer for Partey entails an annual salary of $100 million, tax-free, over a two-year period.

Saanie Daara, former spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association, shared the details on Twitter, stating, "Arsenal star Thomas Partey has been offered $200 million in wages by a club in Saudi Arabia.

Partey will earn an annual, tax-free salary of $100 million if he signs the two-year deal. The Saudi clubs keen on Partey are Al Ahli, Al Nassr, and Al Khaleej."

In the midst of this speculation, Italian side Juventus has also expressed interest in the 30-year-old midfielder.

Partey, who joined Arsenal in the summer of 2020, currently has two years remaining on his existing contract.
