Ghanaian football administrator, Kofi Manu believes Asamoah Gyan, John Boye and Afriyie Acquah should have been included in the Black Stars squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The four-time African champions recorded their worse performance at the AFCON and their first exit in the group stage since 2006 after defeat to Comoros on Tuesday.

The four-time African Champions suffered a 3-2 defeat to AFCON debutants on Tuesday at the Roumde Adjia stadium.

Ghana will now have to wait until 2023 in the search of a fifth Africa Cup of Nations title.

In an interview with Onua TV, the experience football administrator disclosed John Boye was excluded from the AFCON squad because of a tussle between him and the Ghana FA president, Kurt Okraku.

He added Asamoah Gyan, John Boye and Afriyie Acquah should have been in the squad for the AFCON tournament.

"Asamoah Gyan, John Boye, Afriyie Acquah were all supposed to be handed a call up in the ongoing AFCON."

"I have a file with all document which I will be reading soon and it will show why this current GFA will never invite John Boye into the national team even if the coach needs him."

"Proton Consult previously wanted to transfer him to Israel but instead he joined Stade Rennais. I owe 5% of his transfer fee but I didn't get my share.

"The Proton Consult were about to earn $70K from the initial move to Israe, but because he didn't make that move, they have also decided not to hand him a Black Stars call up."

The last time the 34-year-old was handed a call up into the Black Stars was in October 2020 when the Black Stars were preparing for a double header against Sudan in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
