Asamoah Gyan reveals he hopes playing in Indian will attract more top players

Veteran Ghanaian striker, Asamoah Gyan has revealed that he is hoping playing in the Indian Super League (ISL) will attract more top players into the country to play football.

The Black Stars forward secured a transfer to Indian top-flight side NorthEast United on a free transfer after mutually partying ways with Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor.

Now 34 years of age, Gyan who has previously played in several countries and shines says he hopes his presence in the ISL will encourage more top players to move to clubs in India.

“My career has taken me to a lot of places. I have achieved a lot and now I am in India and I will continue to do what I do and that is to play football.

“I hope I can encourage more players to come here like I did in my previous stint in the UAE and China”, the former Sunderland poster boy shared.

The experienced striker has previously played in England, Spain, France, Turkey, UAE, and China.

He is already making headlines in the Indian Super League and so far has a goal to his name after featuring in all two league matches.
