Asante Kotoko captain Danlad Ibrahim has apologized to disgruntled fans following their unimpressive performance in the Ghana Premier League this season.

The Porcupine Warriors has been dismal in the domestic top-flight and are currently ranked 11th in the standings with 33 points.

The Ghanaian giants has suffered six defeats in their last seven games in the Ghanaian top-flight, picking just a point across the period.

Kotoko have won only one game in 2024 following a sharp decline in form, which has seen the Kumasi-based giants drop from title contenders to survival hopefuls.

Speaking to the club’s media, Danlad Ibrahim issued apology to the fans and expressed optimism about the club’s season turnaround.

"We would first like to apologise to our supporters because we know they don’t deserve this kind of result and the things that are happening in the team. However, we want to assure them that we will do whatever it takes to turn it around."

"It’s very, very bad because a lot of us can’t even sleep and taking into context what we want to do for Asante Kotoko and our careers, this result doesn’t speak well of us the playing body. But we know its part of the job and the only thing we have to do is to change things around now, is to work hard and stay focused. Other than that, it could be worse."

Asante Kotoko, who are currently eleventh on the league standings will host leaders, Samartex at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
