Asante Kotoko defender Ismail-Abdul Ganiyu is set to miss their CAF Champions League opener after suffering a knee injury.
Ganiyu sustained the knee injury during the club's training session at the Adako Jachie training complex as they intensified preparations ahead of their Champions League campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors have been dealt a big blow ahead of the competition.
The 22-year-old is expected to undergo a medical test to know the extent of the injury.
The highly-rated youngster played an instrumental role in their GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition campaign.
He has become a key performer at Asante Kotoko since joining them from Karela United last year.
