Asante Kotoko defender Abdul Ganiu Ismail has not been neglected by the club after suffering an injury says the Public Relations Manager Kennedy Boakye Ansah.

Ganiu sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury during a friendly game at the Adako Jachie training complex and has since been on the sidelines.

Speaking on Royal TV's SportsExpress, the spokesperson claims it's untrue that the Porcupine Warriors have neglected the player.

"It is never true that Kotoko has neglected Abdul Ganiu Ismael, but rather the process for him to be moved to Germany is not yet due hence the delay," he said.

"The welfare of our players is paramount in our line of duty because they are the reason the football club exists. Just as we did for Richard Senanu, we will equally offer the same service to Ganiu".

The 23-year-old joined Kotoko last term from Karela United and has been a key cog for the side.
