The four-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko have paid the outstanding arrears to the playing body and the technical team.

Before the end of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, the playing body and the technical had not been paid for four months.

However, following the dissolution of the Dr Kwame Kyei-led 12-member board of directors and the Nana Yaw Amponsah-led management, it was confirmed that the players and the technical team have not been paid for the said months.

Life patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II tasked the IMC to clear out the debt before new players are recruited ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

The IMC were also given GhC600,000 to prepare the team towards the 2023-24 football season.

However, with the team expected to begin preseason next week under Prosper Narteh Ogum, the arrears have been paid by the IMC.

Asante Kotoko will open their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign with a home game against returnees, Heart of Lions.

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) comprises of Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua; the Kontomponiaferehene and a chartered accountant, former Black Stars coach Appiah, Dr Ogum, and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi as the administrative manager.
