Midfielder Justice Blay says he and his family holds Asante Kotoko in a high esteem and has promised to do more following contract extension.

Blay has inked a contract extension, committing to the Porcupine Warriors until 2025 and is expected to play a huge role for the Ghanaian giants as they seek to clinch the league title this campaign.

"I am happy to have renewed my stay. Kotoko means everything to me and my family. I appreciate the support of everyone in the club, the head coach and the entire management team. And like I have done before in the past, I will continue to do even better." He told the club’s media.

Blay joined Kotoko initially on loan in the 2019-2020 season, making 25 appearances, scoring two goals with three assists.

The defensive linchpin became a household name following his outstanding performance for the Ghanaian giants, earning him a permanent move to the club.

Blay has since made 49 appearances in his two stints after securing a permanent move in 2022, winning the Premier League.

The tough-tackling midfielder has established himself as key member of the Kotoko team in the ongoing campaign, featuring eight times in the first half of the Ghana Premier League campaign after injury recovery.

The 31-year- old, whose current contract was due to expire at the end of the month has put pen to paper for a further year with an option to renew for another year.
