Asante Kotoko, one of the most successful football clubs in Ghana, has been urged by Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to return to its old module of appointing a single person to manage the club.

Agyapong's statement has sparked a debate among fans and stakeholders of the club, with some supporting his call for a change in management structure while others believe that the current model is working fine.

Asante Kotoko has been facing internal problems this season and their performance in the league also has been very inconsistent. In their match week 28th game against Accra Great Olympics, the Porcupine Warriors were beaten 2-0.

"Asante Kotoko must return to the module of appointing a single person to form a management/board to work with. Kotoko’s chairman is the third most powerful person in Ghana after the President and Asantehene. Kotoko is a traditional club," Kwabena Agyei Agyapong told Oyerepa FM/TV

Asante Kotoko is 5th on the league table level on points with bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
