Asante Kotoko new captain Richard Boadu reacts to defeat against Al Hilal in pre-season friendly

Asante Kotoko captain Richard Boadu has heaped praise on his teammates despite defeat to Al Hilal in a pre-season friendly in Sudan.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 2-0 defeat against the Sudanese giants on Tuesday as they prepare massively for the new season.

Despite the defeat, Boadu, who was named the club's captain on Tuesday has expressed how proud he was of the team.

"Having a mission or a vision for your life is one of the best things you can do for your mental wellness. Am very proud of you guys. We focus on the next games. Asante Kotoko," he posted on Twitter.

Hilal scored in each half to defeat Kotoko, who are in Sudan preparing for the 2022/23 season.

In the 42nd minute, Senegalese youngster Lamine Jarjou scored for Al Hilal, giving the Blue Jewels a 1-0 lead.

Khater Awad's goal in the 88th minute sealed Al Hilal's victory over the Porcupine Warriors.
