Asante Kotoko have provided an injury update on midfielder Richard Senanu who has been on the sidelines for six months.

The 25-year-old is set to make an injury return in the coming days after he sustained a chronic knee injury during the team’s campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup last season.

He underwent a surgery in Germany in July last year and has since been under rehabilitation.

"Senanu is currently undergoing the second phase of recovery," said Deputy Head of the Medical Team, Emmanuel Osei Owusu. This part is divided into two, and the first includes the strengthening of his muscles. This should take him a month to complete."

"The second part, which is about endurance drills, will follow immediately afterwards. That should also take a month to complete. Senanu will then be strong enough to join his teammates once his muscles have been strengthened and he has attained the required body strength and endurance level."
