Asante Kotoko should not compete in Caf Champions League - Malik Jabir

Published on: 11 September 2020

Asante Kotoko legend Malik Jabir has adviced his outfit not to compete in Africa due to lack of preparations.

The Porcupine Warriors will represent Ghana in the 2020/21 Caf Champions League following the cancellation of the 2019/20 football season by the Ghana Football Association due to coronavirus pandemic.

According to the former Ghana intentional, the Reds will struggle to make a meaningful impact because of lack of preparations for the competition.

"I hope they (The board) think about it before taking this decision. I don’t know how Kotoko will feel about participating in this year’s Africa competition because we’ve not played a competitive league in Ghana for the past three (3) years," Jabir told OTEC FM.

"It’s okay if their motive is to go and try than to win the cup. We must prepare well for it, if not then we should forget," he added.

Kotoko confirmed their participation in the Caf inter-club competitions this week.
