Aston Villa Striker Rudy Gestede Delighted With 'Changing' Atmosphere at Club

Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede has hailed the changing atmosphere at the club ahead of Wednesday's encounter with Brentford.

Villa endured a miserable 2015-16 season, finishing last in the Premier League and being frequently embarrassed by their consistently poor performances and results.

Speaking to Aston Villa'sofficial club website, the former Blackburn striker claimed he was happy with the way the mood around the club was changing.

The fans are behind us. Even though it is the Championship, there are a lot of fans," the 27-year-old stated.

The atmosphere is changing. I think it wasn't easy because last season was the poorest I have ever known.

The manager has brought in new staff and is making changes. He is pushing the same way. There are a lot of positives and commitment from everybody.Everybody is willing to move forward. I have confidence we will do better and start getting three points.

Gestede scored during Villa's 2-2 drawwith Nottingham Forest at the weekend, and, while admitting the result was a frustrating one, he added that his side were keen to register all three points against Brentford on Wednesday.

"The Forest game is finished now. There is frustration but you have to leave it in the changing room and move forward," Gestede declared.

"The good thing about the Championship is there's always another game on the horizon. You don't have time to think too much about the game just past. You have to focus on the next one.

"There are plenty of games to come and we know we have to do something now.It is a home game and I think it will be good for us to get a win"

Villa currently sit in 17th position in the Championship, having picked up six points from their opening six matches.
