Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez admits he never enjoyed his time with Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old has since gone on to become a fulcrum in the success of Atletico Madrid in recent years, and clearly has a big future ahead of him.
"I experienced a series of bad things, but I believe any 11-year-old could have that happen to them," said Saul in an interview with Movistar Plus, reflecting on his time at Real's youth academy.
"At the time, people started to talk of atrocities.
"My time at [Real] Madrid was good for me because it made me mature, grow and realise many things.
"Thanks to that, I'm here now."
