Newcastle United attacker Christian Atsu has said that he finds the ban on public gathering in Ghana strange.

The Black Stars forward in currently in gather due to the suspension of the English Premier League due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic which continues to have a toll on countries all over the world.

Having returned to his home country, he has been met with a similar situation which has forced the Ghana government to suspend all public gatherings including football activities.

Speaking to Newcastle United on the situation in Ghana, Atsu noted that things looked safe over here.

“People are buying sanitizer and a lot of things to clean your hands, so, for now, it is very safe”, the pacey winger said as quoted by the club's website.

He added, “The government has banned gatherings in the country, as the UK did, so for me, it is very strange because I can't watch football because there is no football anywhere to watch and normally when I'm not training, I'm watching football.
